Third General Assembly: advancing sustainable materials through collaboration

From October 22 to 24, 2024, the GIANCE project – Graphene Alliance for Sustainable Multifunctional Materials to Tackle Environmental Challenges – held its Third General Assembly at the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology (ICT) in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Representatives from project partners gathered to review progress and strategize next steps, reinforcing GIANCE’s commitment to developing multifunctional, eco-friendly materials for real-world environmental applications.

Throughout the three-day assembly, partners presented key achievements across several work packages, including WP2 (Innovations in Material Development and Upscaling), WP3 (Sustainable Manufacturing Technologies and Processes), and WP6 (Life-Cycle Assessment). Workshops on specific User Cases (UCs) enabled integration of these scientific contributions into practical application scenarios, fostering open dialogue and collaboration among teams.

The program also featured networking opportunities and a tour of the ICT labs, showcasing cutting-edge technologies supporting GIANCE’s objectives. The assembly concluded with actionable insights and strategic guidance, marking a clear path forward for the project’s next phase.
